WHO WE ARE

Hugh started working with dogs at a boarding facility in Sedalia, Colorado in, where he developed a commitment to ensure our companions are taken care of as he would one of his own. When Hugh moved to Buena Vista, he found the availability of groomers willing to provide services for his own dogs was slim and subsequently obtained his certification for dog grooming in the state of Colorado. Hugh then opened The Doghouse LTD as an exclusively mobile grooming service to fit the needs of the clients in our mountainous region and has continued to expand to provide the most accommodating services for our community. Hugh is passionate about his career, his business, and the standards to which we care for our clients and, in our opinion, has changed the local grooming experience for the dogs and their human companions for the better.

Hanah took over management of The Doghouse in February of 2025 after concluding a career in cardiac medicine at the local hospital, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. While Hanah had no previous experience with dog grooming, she always had a love for animals and a passion for kindness and helping others. Hanah has since completed six weeks of training with a national certified master groomer in Denver, Colorado and has taken over the mobile grooming service for The Doghouse. Hanah grew up in Buena Vista and brings to the table a fresh mindset, new ideas, and a deep love for her community.

Arrington started his career in dog grooming in Florida as a dog bather and later furthered his position to offer full grooming services to his clients. Arrington moved to Buena Vista in 2020 in search of a better climate and grew to love the lifestyle of small mountain town living. Arrington started working for the Doghouse in 2022 and has been an exemplary groomer and a wonderful addition to our team. With 8 years of combined experience in dog grooming and a deep love for all pets, Arrington is well versed in the tricks of the trade and treats his clients with expertise and compassion. Arrington provides in-house grooming services for dogs, grooming services for cats on a case-by-case basis, dog walking services, and pet sitting services.

Sarah began working with animals at the age of 17, with several years of experience in horse rescues and equine-based work before starting her career with dogs. Prior to her work in dog grooming, Sarah worked as a dog trainer for 5 years where she developed a deep knowledge of canine behavior and handling skills. She later started her career in grooming services and has 10 years of grooming experience in the Chaffee County area. Independently, Sarah is also a dog breeder and owner/caretaker of a wide variety of livestock and pups. Sarah is an exceptional groomer and a superlative asset to our team, and she will be joining us again in the shop offering in-house grooming starting in April.

Rick Adams has been mountain-living in Colorado for 30 years and has lived in Chaffee County for over 10 years. Rick has been a ski instructor at Monarch, has worked in sporting goods at Murdochs, and is currently a sterilization technician at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. Rick has developed a deep love and care for the health and wellness of our community; he recently joined our team at The Doghouse to provide pet waste removal services and will care for your property by helping you to keep it clean.
